Tighten and Rejuvenate with SkinTyte

Posted August 24, 2018 in Skin Care

When treating severe skin laxity, there’s no substitute for procedures like facelift and neck lift surgery. Still, the average plastic surgery patient doesn’t necessarily require these advanced, invasive operations. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, people between the ages of 35-50 make up the majority of plastic surgery patients. If you’re in this demographic, you’re probably not noticing a significant amount of loose skin on your face or body—And this makes you a great candidate for minimally invasive treatments like SkinTyte.

How SkinTyte Fights the Signs of Aging

Wrinkles, fine lines, jowls, and loose, “crepey” skin all have one thing in common: They’re caused by collagen depletion. After approximately age 30, our bodies gradually produce less and less of this skin-strengthening compound. This causes our skin to become thinner, drier, and more fragile. At first, these changes are barely noticeable; over time, however, signs of stress-related damage become apparent. Creases form in areas where the skin is routinely compressed, creating crow’s feet and smile lines. Folds of loose skin develop due to the effects of gravity, causing jowls and loose, crepey neck skin to appear.

SkinTyte, an innovative FDA-approved non-surgical procedure, uses laser light energy to strengthen and tighten the skin, thereby reversing many of these unfavorable changes in skin condition. By gently heating the connective tissues within and below the skin, SkinTyte spurs the production of collagen. SkinTyte also causes existing collagen to contract, making it denser and more even in distribution.

SkinTyte creates both immediate and long-term improvements in skin condition. SkinTyte patients notice that their skin feels smoother and tighter within days of having this procedure, due to its contracting effect on connective tissue. Over the next three months, collagen levels remain elevated, so the skin continues to grow stronger, tighter, and smoother.

How is SkinTyte Performed?

SkinTyte is completely noninvasive; it doesn’t require any incisions and it won’t make your skin peel, bruise, or bleed. When performing SkinTyte, Dr. Gilpin glides a specialized applicator device over the patient’s skin. This device is capable of heating tissues within the dermis (the layer of tissue that supports the epidermis) without causing the surface of the skin to become uncomfortably warm. Because SkinTyte is so gentle, it can be used virtually anywhere on the body. You can have SkinTyte performed on your face, neck, arms, thighs, or abdomen.

SkinTyte does not create the need for downtime, so you’ll be able to return to all of your normal activities within 24 hours of having this procedure. Some patients notice mild redness immediately after their treatment, but this symptom usually fades away after a few days. The only caveat to be aware of when choosing SkinTyte is the fact that most patients require multiple treatments. You can expect to have between three and six SkinTyte sessions, each spaced at least two weeks apart.
