What Happens During a Deep Neck Lift?
A deep neck lift is performed using general anesthesia at our accredited surgical facility. Dr. Gilpin will review your surgical plan and ensure you’re comfortable before beginning the procedure. A single one-inch incision will be performed underneath the chin. Through this incision, the deep tissues of the neck can be lifted and resuspended to their natural position. Any excess fat will be removed, and the muscles will be tightened. Once complete, you can return home for your recovery.
Deep Neck Lift Results and Recovery
When you return home from our Nashville office, you can expect to have some soreness, swelling, and bruising. Our knowledgeable team will provide detailed aftercare instructions including keeping your head elevated, avoiding turning or twisting your neck, and more. During your follow-ups with Dr. Gilpin, he’ll give you a personalized recommendation on when you can return to your daily activities and how long you should wear your compression garment if indicated. Most patients can return to office-based work within 1-2 weeks.
