Can Eyelids Be Lifted During A Browlift?
Request ConsultationENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT
One thing that turns patients away from plastic surgery is the idea that it requires significant downtime or causes visible scarring. It’s normal to want to avoid looking like you’ve had something done or taking time off to recover from surgery. If you want the rejuvenating results of a brow lift but without visible incisions or extensive downtime, the endoscopic brow lift is an exciting new option.
The endoscopic brow lift is an advanced brow lift technique that uses an endoscope, or a small surgical instrument and live feed camera, to lift and tighten the brow. Traditionally, the brow lift uses a larger “open” incision along the hairline, leading to a longer recovery. The endoscopic brow lift uses virtually undetectable entry points to rejuvenate the brow for a younger, more refreshed look.
YOUR ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT CONSULTATION WITH DR. GILPIN
Your first step is meeting with our double-board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. David Gilpin, who exclusively performs the brow lift using an endoscope and has decades of experience in cosmetic facial rejuvenation. During a consultation, our team can help you determine the best approach to your anti-aging goals and whether the endoscopic brow lift suits your needs.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I’M READY FOR AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT?
The endoscopic brow lift is one of the most transformative options for aging signs in the upper face. If you identify with the following, you may benefit from an endoscopic brow lift:
- You feel that you look angry or tired when in a resting state
- You have hooded brows or need to hold your brows up to put on makeup
- You have deep lines or furrows on your brow
- You’ve tried Botox but no longer see the results you want
An endoscopic brow lift can rejuvenate the whole brow, lifting it to a more upright position and getting rid of heaviness. For some patients, a lateral brow lift (or mini brow lift) is enough to achieve rejuvenating results. Ultimately, Dr. Gilpin can determine the best surgical approach for your needs.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT?
Dr. Gilpin will help you select the right anesthetic for your comfort level. Many patients can undergo an endoscopic brow lift while comfortably awake. To begin, Dr. Gilpin will create four small and precise entry points through which the endoscope can be inserted. Dr. Gilpin will use the endoscope to carefully lift and rejuvenate the tissues into their natural position with dissolvable sutures. Once the procedure is complete, you can return home.
ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT RESULTS AND RECOVERY
You can expect some swelling, bruising, and minor discomfort after your endoscopic brow lift. Our team will send you home with detailed aftercare instructions on how to care for your incisions, minimize swelling, and more. It’s essential to keep your head elevated and avoid blood-thinning medications, exercise, and irritating your incisions. During your follow-up, Dr. Gilpin will determine when you can return to normal activities. Most patients return to work within a week.
Swelling will continue to subside over 1-2 weeks – at this point, your results will begin to emerge. You’ll see noticeably smoother, more lifted skin on the upper face that creates a more alert and rested look. Dr. Gilpin and our team will help you put together a personalized anti-aging regimen to help you maintain your results for the long term.
TEMPORAL BROW LIFT
If you’re not ready for a full endoscopic brow lift, the temporal brow lift is a quick and comfortable way to look more alert, awake, and refreshed.
The temporal brow lift (sometimes called the mini brow lift or temple lift) focuses on the outer part of the brow. It works by lifting the outer part of the eyebrows when they begin to sag and create hoods on the upper eyelids. It can eliminate heavy, sagging skin on the outer brow and “crow’s feet” wrinkles on the outer part of the eye and temple. The temporal brow lift creates a more lifted look with minimal downtime and natural-looking results.
YOUR TEMPORAL BROW LIFT CONSULTATION WITH DR. GILPIN
Dr. David Gilpin is Nashville’s foremost brow lift expert and has decades of experience performing various facial rejuvenation surgeries. During a consultation, our team will determine whether the temporal brow lift is best for your cosmetic goals and natural features.
During your consultation, the best thing to do is to ask questions and voice any concerns. Dr. Gilpin strives to build long-lasting relationships with his patients and can provide the most up-to-date information to help you make an informed decision. Dr. Gilpin and our team will also work with you to develop a personalized surgical plan based on your needs and preferences and help you learn how to make the most of your temporal brow lift results.
The temporal brow lift can be an excellent option for patients seeking rejuvenating, conservative results. If you identify with the following, the mini brow lift may be a great option for you:
- You have sagging brows near your temples or outer eyelids
- You have deep crow’s feet or signs of aging in the outer eyes
- You have hooded eyebrows that fall on your upper eyelids
- You feel that you look angry, tired, or worn out because of heavy brows
One of the most important considerations for the temporal brow lift is signs of aging between the brows. The temporal brow lift deals with the outer part of the brow rather than the area between the eyebrows. The temporal brow lift is a great option if you don’t have heaviness between your brows. Dr. Gilpin will assess your look and make a professional recommendation during your consultation.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TEMPORAL BROW LIFT?
The temporal brow lift doesn’t require general anesthesia – in fact, you can be comfortably awake, depending on your surgical plan. Dr. Gilpin will create tiny entry points within the hairline near the temples. Dr. Gilpin can lift the outer brows using a specialized endoscope through these incisions. Once complete, the incisions are closed, and you can return home.

Meet The DoctorWhat is Eyelid Surgery?
Eyelid surgery, sometimes called the eyelid lift, is a cosmetic procedure designed to lift and rejuvenate the eyes for a more youthful look. Gravity is one of the main causes of aging around the eyes, and eyelid surgery aims to restore the underlying tissues and fat pads to a more upright and natural position. It uses minimal incisions placed within the eyes’ natural contours, allowing you to easily conceal them with cosmetics and fade them over time.
How Do I Know If I’m Ready for Eyelid Surgery?
If you’re noticing signs of aging around your eyes, such as heavy upper lids or sagging pads under your eyes, you might be ready for eyelid surgery. Many of our patients pursue eyelid surgery once non-surgical treatments (such as Botox) no longer produce the desired results. The first step is meeting with an experienced and knowledgeable facial plastic surgeon to explore the possibilities. During a consultation with Dr. Gilpin, you can learn more about this top option for facial rejuvenation in Nashville.
