Which Nonsurgical Treatment Is Best for Me?
Posted February 20, 2019 in Injectables
Nonsurgical treatment options are becoming more popular these days due to their quick treatment time and lack of downtime. Not everyone has the luxury of taking time away from work or school to recover from more invasive procedures. At Gilpin Facial Plastics, we offer a wide selection of nonsurgical treatment options to help address your signs of aging and skin issues without surgery, incisions, or downtime. We offer the following treatment options to address the following issues:
There are many treatment options that can be used to prevent signs of aging. These include Botox, Fillers, lasers, and the nonsurgical facelift. Botox is an injectable made up of botulinum toxin type A that works by blocking the nerve signals that cause facial muscles to contract, smoothing lines in the face. It can also be used to prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the first place.
Fillers are commonly made up of hyaluronic acid and work to correct common signs of aging such as lines, wrinkles, and loss of volume. They can be used to help combat signs of aging such as lines, wrinkles, and volume loss in the face. At our office, we use both the full line of Juvederm and Restylane fillers to help combat signs of aging.
Lasers are also a great treatment option and can work by stimulating collagen production in the skin, correcting signs of aging for a rejuvenated complexion.
As we age, our collagen production begins to diminish, and our facial fat stores begin to reduce as well. This can leave our faces looking hollow or sunken, giving us an aged or tired appearance. Fillers are the best choice when it comes to correcting volume loss due to aging. Because they are made up of hyaluronic acid, they attract water under the surface of the skin, adding youthful volume. Fillers can be used to restore volume in the lips, cheeks, and mid-face for a more youthful look.
Individuals who suffer from acne understand the frustration it can cause. Acne occurs when hair follicles plug with oil and dead skin cells. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments are all effective options for treating acne.
Chemical peels are an effective nonsurgical treatment that entails applying a special chemical solution to the skin, which then causes the outermost layer of the skin to peel away, revealing fresh, youthful skin. Chemical peels come in three different strengths: gentle, mild, and strong. The strength of your chemical peel will ultimately depend on the amount of skin damage and aging that you would like to treat.
Microdermabrasion is another nonsurgical skin rejuvenation treatment, but it uses super fine diamond crystals to gently exfoliate your skin, sloughing away dead skin cells and unclogging pores. This can help to combat surface blemishes as well as prevent future acne for a clear complexion.
Laser treatments are a great option for treating acne scarring. By stimulating the skin’s regenerative process, lasers can help stimulate collagen production, smoothing out the indentations that were left behind by acne.
Uneven pigmentation and skin tone can be caused by many factors, including sun exposure, pollution, hormones, and inflammation. At our office, we offer dermaplaning, chemical peels, laser treatments, and microdermabrasion.
Dermaplaning involves using a specially designed blade to carefully remove unwanted vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) and dead skin cells. This helps to correct a dull, uneven texture for a radiant glow.
Chemical peels, laser treatments, and microdermabrasion are also good option in that they either remove dead and dull skin cells or stimulate collagen production under the skin to help refresh the complexion.
At our office, we provide professional and understanding care to each of our patients. We believe in an individualized treatment approach, creating unique procedure plans to meet each of our patients’ aesthetic goals. We also use only the most up to date, state-of-the-art treatment equipment to ensure natural-looking and beautiful results.
