Sciton Laser

It used to take a variety of treatments to address the most common blemishes and facial flaws. To treat concerns like acne scars, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and sagging skin, patients needed to invest a substantial amount of time and effort.

Now, with the advent of versatile devices like the Sciton Laser, patients can treat a myriad of conditions with one device. Yet as remarkable as that may be, the Sciton Laser offers more than convenience.

With a Sciton Laser treatment, patients can achieve healthy skin without having to worry about a long recovery, substantial limits to their daily activities, incisions, or sutures. Its remarkable mechanism was also built with safety and precision in mind, so patients can rest assured that their treatment will be effective but won’t harm their skin.

It’s that high margin of safety that makes laser skin resurfacing so popular, but patients also love the fact that they can finally treat the fine blemishes that surgical treatments can’t. In fact, laser skin resurfacing is one of the few treatments that will rebuild your skin from the cellular level rather than just softening the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

So, how does the Sciton Laser manage to perform an incredible amount of treatments with one device? It does it by offering a diverse set of laser and light treatments that target a wide range of different skin conditions. It’s also easily customizable, so the treatment can be tailored to a patient’s specific needs and goals.

One machine: countless treatments. By offering the Sciton Laser, Gilpin Facial Plastics delivers on its promise to provide the most advanced and medically proven treatments.

We offer two attachments for our Sciton Laser: the HALO and BBL.

The HALO – Hybrid Fractional Laser

This revolutionary laser is a combination non-ablative (non-resurfacing) and ablative (resurfacing) lasers. By combining two different types of lasers, our patients can enjoy the powerful results afforded by ablative lasers in addition to the easier recovery offered by non-ablative lasers. By adjusting the levels of ablation used, the HALO laser can treat a wide variety of conditions such as:

  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Dull skin
  • Unevenly toned skin
  • Rough-textured skin

BBL – Broadband Light

Rather than use a laser to deliver heat, Broad Band Light (BBL) uses light energy. It works by delivering intense pulses of light onto the surface of the skin. Because of its quick mechanism, BBL can trigger a regenerative reaction while preventing the skin from getting harmed. BBL can treat:

  • Freckles and hyperpigmentation
  • Dull, aging skin
  • Loose skin

Complete Skin Resurfacing

To rejuvenate the skin, you have to rebuild it. It’s why Gilpin Facial Plastics is proud to offer complete laser skin resurfacing. We know that after decades of damage from environmental stressors, our skin starts to develop dull skin, wrinkles, sun spots, and age spots. Laser skin resurfacing works by eliminating older layers of skin to reveal the fresher, newer skin underneath. This mechanism also stimulates an overall healing process for the skin.

If you’re looking for a comprehensive treatment, then complete laser skin resurfacing may be appropriate for you. Complete skin resurfacing is designed to treat the entire surface of the skin, including the more delicate areas around the lips and eyes.

Skin Brightening and Skin Tightening

One of the symptoms of aging is rough, dull, and hyperpigmented skin. The Sciton Laser replaces that older layer of skin with a younger layer by gently heating the surface of the skin to trigger a healing response. The result is glowing, healthier looking skin.

In addition to brightening the skin, the Sciton Laser can also tighten skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins responsible for keeping the skin tight and firm. After a Sciton Laser treatment, patients should see their skin gradually grow firmer and tighter as the skin responds to the treatment.

Acne Scars

By stimulating the skin’s regenerative processes, the Sciton Laser can help patients lift and smooth out the indentations left behind by acne. Essentially, the Sciton delivers heat deep into the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. The patient should then see a gradual smoothing and lifting effect on the deep pits in the skin.

Hyperpigmentation

The Sciton Laser uses laser or light energy to eliminate melanin, the pigment in our bodies responsible for sun spots, hyperpigmentation, age spots, or melasma. The Sciton Laser uses a certain type of energy that has the affinity for melanin; that means that our melanin will absorb the energy, break apart, and become safely absorbed by the body.
